With all the mental health talks and latest celebrity suicides, there leaves us the question of… what’s next?
Are we woken up yet?
When a celebrity commits suicide, we often ask ourselves the question, “why would they do that when they (apparently) have everything they desire?
The thing is, they don’t.
Inner Peace and practicing mindfulness is a valuable asset and unfortunately you can’t buy that.
You need to experience it. You need to take care of your mind; maintain it the same way you maintain your car, your house, your family, your body. Maintaining a mindful state not only sharpens our senses and awareness, but it can help us to recognize and free ourselves from the destructive “monkey” mind and thought patterns that causes depression, anxiety and other ills.
Why would I start such a practice, or you may think … I’m fine, I don’t need this, I can handle my stress etc..
The real question is, how far will we take advantage of our inner mental wellness until it’s too late?
What will happen to our rational thinking when the pain is too hard to bear, and we feel helpless?
What will we do when we need an immediate solution to take away the pain. Take away the noise.
How long do we wait until it’s too late?

We have the technology today to search for help in so many ways.
We have the possibility to turn those painful moments into transformational lives.
It takes education.
It takes patience (with ourselves)
It takes understanding that we are not alone.
It takes investment in self-care
Ultimately, it takes love.
Unfortunately, many resort to abuse and suicide.
So how do we take care of this?
Well, we can start by talking and experiencing the positive that we all possess inside, no matter what your situation is. Gratitude.

Montreal Zen Fest is all about that inner connection, and the positive experience within our community. People will come together and will connect through meditation, discussion through wellness workshops, yoga, and live music through the power of Chanting. There will many health and wellness tools and services available for mental wellness.
